Optimize Brain Function With Neurotechnology

More than two decades ago I stumbled across the budding field of neurotechnology, and it forever transformed my life.

Back in the early 1990s, I found myself reading an article on this new, exciting field in what used to be Omni magazine. Light bulbs were going off in my head and I knew I was onto something very big and very important, and I was determined to fully explore it.

Before I discovered neurofeedback I started out in the realm of exploring mind tools. Things were hopping in that genre back then, and one particular journalist, Michael Hutchison probably did more than anyone else to advance the field as a whole with his brilliant and insightful writing on the subject. Michael was also the editor of a quarterly Journal called the ‘Mega Brain Report’ back then, and I still have every single issue– every single one is dog-eared. I couldn’t get enough of it. I was hooked. This was (and still is) one exciting new frontier!

My earliest introduction to the actual technology was exploring the use of a particular type of mind tool called AVS, or audiovisual stimulation (sometimes called AVE, or audiovisual entrainment). Many people also popularly heard about this mind tool under the description of being a light and sound machine.

In the early days, they were a dime a dozen– and most of them little more than toys and novelties. By no means were all created equal. Even Sharper Image sold one for a while (until it started causing seizures in their stores while certain vulnerable people tried it out). It was the brain tech wild, Wild West in those days. But there was one researcher in this genre–just one– that truly saw the powerful therapeutic potential of this technology and set forth on a quest to both research and hopefully legitimize its therapeutic value, as well as using that science to develop seriously effective devices. He quickly learned some of the fatal flaws of most of the existing devices and worked tirelessly to engineer something that could safely and effectively transform lives. He has done just that, and he calls the device the D.A.V.I.D., which stands for “digital audiovisual integration device.” It’s inventor? David Siever of what is now known as Mind Alive (formerly known as Comptronic Devices) in Edmonton Alberta. Dave sees to it that the technology continues to evolve through careful ongoing research, often funded by the very sales of Dave’s devices. Dave’s earliest amazing invention, which I also still own (the D.A.V.I.D Paradise) was a favorite of (the now late) Michael Hutchison, who said that Dave’s device was the only one that he kept on his bedstand and used every day. High praise indeed (and justifiably so)!

Dave was my first real contact in the world of neurotechnology back in the day, and we probably spent hours talking on the phone, with me picking his brain. At the time I was really suffering the pronounced effects of depression and was desperate for a possible solution. I had done my homework (as is my tendency) and honed in on his device as the most promising of them all. After receiving it in the mail I began experimenting with it in earnest and– long story short– experienced some extremely intriguing effects that led me to realize I had discovered a new path toward a mental clarity (and versatility) I had not previously known. I did experience some extremely encouraging initial depressive relief, and I loved many of the other types of cognitive effects I experienced with this tool. My now passionate interest in neurotechnology eventually led me to the field of neurofeedback– and the rest (as they say) is history. But my first foray into this genre, and my first true glimpse at what was possible for my mental well being through technology, was through using Dave Siever’s D.A.V.I.D. devices.

I currently own two or three generations of Dave’s products, and still promote them wholeheartedly as second to none in the genre. It occurred to me that I had done my own audience a disservice by not sharing all this sooner, since this technology is readily available to anyone who wants it, and it can make a profound difference in the way you feel and function (particularly if you are giving your body and bring the raw materials it needs to function well). The combination using a Primalgenic® approach with this is incredible. My allegiance to the field of neurofeedback is steadfast, tried-and-true; but this is the tool that started it all for me.

Today, Dave continues to develop this technology and regularly lectures at some of the more academic neurofeedback-oriented and other conferences. He has painstakingly earned the respect of many researchers in the field. This is a man that has decidedly set out to do the right thing, in the right way for all the right reasons.

I am proud and really excited to share this interview I did with David Siever of Mind Alive (see video below). Dave and I have known each other now since the early 1990s and we have gotten to know one another extremely well. Today he is like family to me—a brother. We have rock climbed together in the Canadian Rockies, and we have boated together in the Puget Sound. We have shared some great times at various neurotechnology conferences throughout the years, and we have become extremely close, trusted friends. But I want you to know by disclosing this that I would not be sharing what I am sharing with you today unless I 100% believed in the work that Dave is doing, and in the extraordinary efforts toward legitimate research he has pursued as a means of giving credibility to the technology he has created. I am here to tell you it is second to none, as is (by the way) his customer service. Dave is one of the most heartfelt, honest, passionately determined, thoughtful and ethical people I have ever known. He’s also just all-around a great guy. After watching the interview I think you’ll appreciate why I think so highly of him as both a person and as an inventor of something truly capable of making the world a better place.

Dave has kindly offered a FREE GIFT to anyone contacting him to purchase one of his devices as a result of watching this interview. He is a generous guy, and one of the finest humans you will ever do business with. If you are looking for a truly extraordinary gift for yourself or for someone you love this holiday season, or want to get a leg up on your peak performance mental edge, then this mind tool technology is for you.

Note that we are not attempting to make medical claims for this device, even though it has been successfully tested with certain populations in numerous studies. But we do discuss some of this research throughout the interview, and I think you will agree:

It’s pretty compelling stuff!
